What are the power sources for roller coasters

过山车立柱制作

The amusement park is the most attractive place for us, with many exciting and wonderful game projects inside. Roller coaster is the most exciting game project in my opinion. We all know that roller coasters are usually quite tall, so the requirements for various hardware facilities of roller coasters are quite high. Next, let the editor in charge of making roller coaster pillars introduce to you the power classification of roller coasters.

1. Chain elevator

As we have seen before, roller coaster trains themselves do not have electric motors: for most of the running process, the train relies on gravity and momentum to move. In order to accumulate potential energy, the train needs to be lifted to the top of the first hill or launched with great thrust.

2. Catapult

In some newer roller coaster designs, the train is launched by a catapult. There are several ways to launch a catapult, but their functions are basically the same. These systems do not drag the train up the hill to accumulate potential energy, but rather enable the train to gain a large amount of kinetic energy in a very short period of time at the beginning, allowing it to start running.

3. Linear Induction Motor

It is one of the commonly used catapult systems. A linear induction motor uses an electromagnet to create a magnetic field above the track and below the train, and attracts the two magnetic fields to each other. The electric motor moves the magnetic field above the track, pulling the following train to move along the track at extremely high speed. The main advantages of this system are its speed, efficiency, durability, accuracy, and controllability.

4. Hydraulic Launching System

Appears in roller coasters produced by Intemin Company. This is a slider with a steel cable, driven by a flywheel driven by water pressure. When launching, the slider is stuck under the train, and the high-speed rotating flywheel quickly pulls the slider and the train to rush out together.
